Bride glued 3,000 crystals to her shoe's....Swarovski Crystals, talk about a DIY Bride

Talk about a DO.IT.YOURSELF. Bride. The Bride made her own shoes by gluing 3,000 Swarvoski Crystals onto them; each shoe taking about 12 hours to create and finish.  Both the Bride and Groom met flying in the sky.....haha they are both pilots.  The ceremony took place at the Delta Pavilion where pink rose petals lined each side of the aisle. The Bride's bouquet was made from light pink roses, hydrangeas, and small crystal accents; it weighed about 12 pounds. The Bridesmaids wore Black dresses; their bouqets made from dark pink roses and hydrangeas. The couple's first dance was coreographed and ended with the groom flipping the bride...Successfully. Pheeww!! This was truly a beautiful and romantic event.

I'm really really terrible at Directions....

So I'm not the most reliable person when it comes to knowing how to get around Nashville.....Similar to the Opryland Hotel, you just shouldn't ask me how to get anywhere. We created a Mardi Gras themed Reception at the Opryland Springs Golf Club. Our couple had flown to NYC the week prior to be legally married. This was AMA's first time working with a gay couple and boy did we have a blast. The couple wanted to host a Reception in their home town of Nashville for family and friends to celebrate with them. They wanted it to be more of a party rather than a "wedding reception," hence the Mardi Gras theme. The florist's sister had suffered a heart attack the day of the reception and had to go out of town. This meant Jen and I had to collect all of the centerpieces from her house. The florist house ended up being right across the Cumberland River from Opryland where we were. However, we ended up driving for 45 minutes in rush hour traffic; all the way to NNashville. By the time finally reached the florists house we had 10 minutes before the reception was suppose to start.......In a Huge rush, Jen and I frantically raced back to the Golf Club and with a little help from our Catering Manager Maureen we got everything set up just in time. It was one of the guys Birthday, so instead of a wedding cake they had 3 cakes with "Happy Birthday" written on them. The men and their families had a blast and danced the evening away to songs like YMCA, Barbie girl, and Catwalk. HAPPY MARDI GRAS!!!!

A Fallen Soldier Remembered....

Although this was suppose to be one of the happiest days of their lives, the Bride and Groom couldn't help but feel very sad and emotional. Daniel had just returned from serving a full term in Afghanistan returning to a very happpy and commited Brittany. Unfortunately, there would be one member of the wedding party whom wouldn't make it back to for the wedding. One of Daniel's lifelong best friends and fellow soldier was killed while serving in Afghanistan. Daniel would be short not only a groomsman on his special day, but a best friend as well. 100 guests arrived at the Delta Pavilion to watch Daniel and Brittany proclaim their love for one another. The Bridesmaid dresses were black and they held red rose bouquets. The Groom and Groomsmen were dressed in their official dress blues and those that weren't soldiers were in black and white traditional tuxedos. At the Reception located in the Magnolia Ballroom, the couple had a beautiful white and black cake, a holographic light shown on the dance floor with the couple's names, and their band mixed a DJ turn table with actual musicians; a drummer, guitarist, and a saxaphonist. A picture of the fallen soldier/groomsmen was placed just behind the head table in honor and rememberence of him. This was a very emotional and heart felt Celebration.

Heath and Jackie's Extravaganza

This wedding was so sweet and so much fun! I was in charge of staying with the Bride all day long, keeping her and her wedding party on schedul, making sure they showed up on time, and attending to her every need. Jackie was such a great Bride to work with and Heath was such a funny guy. 15 minutes before it was time to go down the aisle I found myself curling, teasing, and hairspraying Jackie's hair; re-tying the back of her corset, steaming the bottom of her dress, and even ended up in the bathroom with the Mother of the Bride to assist them in holding up Jackie's dress to use the restroom. Jackie's bridal suite was located in the Cascade's side of Opryland Hotel. We do not do a lot of weddings on that side of the hotel so I was not very familiar with it. When it was time to walk the Bridal party-composed of 12 people-down to the ceremony site, I lead them to the elevator but got very turned around as to what floor we were suppose to get off at. We got off on the wrong floor 2 different times and ended up going right when we should have gone left. It was very frustrating, especially when you have 2 elevator loads full of people. I could see that the father of the Bride was getting frustrated. I started to freak out inside and honestly had no idea where I was going. However, I managed to stay calm and finally found a way out of the maze of hallways, only, we were on the very opposite side of the hotel when we got out. After crossing what seemed like miles of the hotel we arrived at the ceremony cite fashionably late, only to find out that they were not ready to begin the ceremony anyway. So although we were late, due to my lack of knowledge of that side of the hotel, it didn't matter. However, I may not be so lucky next time.....

A little over 200 guests arrived to watch Heath and Jackie get married at a beautiful Black and White evening ceremony; at the Delta Pavilion. Their reception was located in the Delta D Convention Room. The couple made their grand entrance into what I would call one of the most beautiful and grand receptions I've seen thus far. The amount of power/amps they used-to power up their band-was enough to power a small concert. The couple was announced into the room and went straight into their first dance-"Make you Feel my Love," by Adele. Their holographic Monogram was shining on the wall and dance floor but the real spotlight was on the couple's 5 tier-4 foot tall wedding cake. This was truly a Magical affair.

Music City Queen Riverboat Wedding

This past Saturday I got to oversee a wedding on the Music City Queen Riverboat. This was probably the coolest wedding I've done so far. I loved being on the boat and the weather was perfect! The Nashville skyline made for some beautiful pictures for the Bride and Groom. They had a cupcake cake tower made up of double chocolate and red velvet cupcakes. The cupcake tower was centered around a lit up steel Eiffel tower. This showed guests the couples love for Paris and also revealed where their honeymoon would take place. The riverboat tour was 3 hours long, with a buffet style dinner, and sparklers to light the couples path off of the boat on to their honeymoon! Can't wait until the next magical day! :)

Table Scapes-PWG Show

Here are The 2 Table Scapes that "A Magical Affair" put together for the Perfect Wedding Guide Bridal Show. Bird's Nest and Winter Fantasy.

Vintage Inspired Headpieces

I am absolutely in love with Vintage inspired pieces for a Bride's wedding day. The 1930's & 1940's are of particular interest to me. I love the glamour and glitz or the Flapper era. Women were strong, empowered, independent, and becoming more individualized. I love making sure a Bride's day is individualized-made their own. Here are some beautiful vintage inspired hair pieces. Whether you are looking to glam up a short veil, or make a long train veil even more dramatic these are some beautiful options.

It has been a while since I've been able to blog. :( The past couple weeks has been a whirl wind. We've had so many weddings, so many ups and downs, and crazy stories. I started to get a little overwhelmed with all of my responsibilities and commitmets; I definitely had a couple breakdowns. The weddings we have had have been pretty small and low maintenance. So I do not feel as if there is much to write about. I'll be back after this weekend though...we have 5 weddings in one day. Its going to be a hectic one for sure!! AHH!

BE Excellent.

I am currently reading, "The Confident Woman," a daily devotional by Joyce Meyer. It comes to me at a moment when I need it most. I am currently weeding out the things in my life that are not pleasing to the Lord, things that are bringing me down and not benefiting God's kingdom. I've wasted a lot of time bettering myself, but there is not time like the present to change. I can't wait to see what God has in store for me and what he is going to do in my life, through me and around me.

-Let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight) and that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly) clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us. Hebrews 12:1

To develop our potential and succeed at becoming what God intended us to be, we will have to lay aside other things. To be a winner in life we must do those things that support our goals and help us to fulfill our purposr. we must learn to say no to well-meaning people who want us to get involved in endless things that ultimately steal our time and produce no fruit.
The apostle Paul was intent on developing his potential. He pictured himself in a race, straining every nerve and muscle and exerting every ouce of strength lest he come short of the goal.

We must make up our mind and get into agreement with God that we are going to be excellent, not mediocre. We must take an inventory of our life and prune off anything in it that entangles us or steals our time. We must be determined, work hard, and refuse to quit or give up-drawing strength from God and not depending on ourselves. If we will do these things persistently, we will eventually have victory.

-Lord Show me the things in my life that are keeping me back from fulfilling my purpose. I depend upon your for the strength to run the race before me. Amen.

Mazzio's Wedding

On Saturday August 27th, we had the pleasure of overseeing the wedding and reception of Chad Morgan and Nicole Mazzio. Nicole's bridesmaids wore blue/indigo wrap dresses; they were so cool because your could tie them in so many different ways, giving the girls different neck lines. They had their ceremony at the Opryland Hotel's Delta Pavillion, where around 70 guests watched Chad and Nicole exchange vows. Nicole looked beautiful. She wore a lace, form fitting mermaid cut dress with a diamond ribbon tied at her waist. She also wore a beautiful white feather arrangement in her hair. The guys all wore gray suits with light yellow ties. The dance with her father was especially touching this time because her father would be shipping out to Afghanistan just 3 days later. This was probably the most beautiful reception i've seen so far. The chairs were all tied with the same blue colored silk as the bridesmaids dresses. The floral arrangements of white roses, white gladiolas, and white peones were stunning, adorned with diamonds and pearls hanging from the flowers. This was truly a beautiful wedding and one of the most romantic that i've seen.
